Industrial Engineer

World Class Manufacturer of hydraulic cartridge valves, custom hydraulic integrated circuits, and hydraulic and pneumatic in-line valves is looking for an energetic and committed engineer to support a manufacturing facility located in the greater Chicagoland area.

Industrial Engineer with experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities, skills and experience include the following:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with both assembly and machining operations
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • Be able to create and modify process routings
  • Be involved in operator training
  • Participate in corrective actions using analytical skills to resolve issues
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have excellent writing skills in order to create work instructions and process instructions to support production
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects that may include the purchase of capital equipment and be able to justify the acquisition of equipment
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to present ideas and suggestion backed with 
  • Have experience in quoting process costs which may include both machine components and assembly costs
  • Participate in Lean and/or 6 sigma activities
  • Experience or participation in the development of PFMEA’s
  • Understand the phases of development for new products from conception to launch
  • Knowledge or experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems or components
  • Be able to work with vendors and service reps
  • Be an active participant of the safety team
  • Have an understanding of practical machining practices and knowledge of CNC programming
  • Be able to design & build jigs & fixtures using 3D CAD systems (inventor a plus)
  • Experience working with manual lathes and mills and knowledge/experience with CNC equipment
  • Must comply with all facility safety protocols and be a participant in the safety team and developing new safety standards
  • Experience with MS office, Excel and Access
  • Be able to develop, design and document assembly processes
  • Be able to develop written procedures and policies in order to maintain and sustain process and safety standards
  • Be able to develop preventative maintenance plans for process or facility equipment
  • Be able to perform safety and ergonomic analysis on processes and equipment
