This multifaceted senior position requires a unique mix of technical and business proficiency with a strong understanding of business priorities. The Sales Team is responsible for most new business and operates in a collaborative style. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical sales personnel management, goal setting and sales support. The Product Road Map sets the future technological path for the business. The ideal candidate will translate customer and industry input into the next generation of product families and markets served. This effort is done collaboratively between Sales and Engineering and its results lead the work of the Engineering Group. The Product Development Process is a project management role to help guide new products to market release. This role ensures dates are met, roadblocks are removed with an appropriate sense of urgency, recovery plans are in place if needed and a timely launch is accomplished.
We seek an inspiring and successful fluid power industry leader, with a proven record managing product and technology strategies and a long-term vision for growing market share. This role will have an impact on the future direction of the business and will require cross-functional collaboration with other leaders in support of day-to-day and strategic higher-level corporate initiatives. This position reports directly to the President of the Company.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knows the hydraulic industry and is capable of translating industry product needs into Deltrol Fluid’s opportunities.
- Leads the collaborative product creation and execution and owns the Product Road Map. Identifies new products, product extensions and adjacent technologies. Matches new product goals with realistic market expectations and engineering support capabilities to ensure success.
- Supports program viability with feasibility analysis and definition of product attributes, specifications, performance goals, forecasts, and pricing requirements. Acts as the “bridge” between Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Manufacturing.
- Keeps a pulse on market acceptance, competitive products and customer input.
- Manages the Life Cycle process and influences direction of the Integrated Product Team.
- Good balance of technical aptitude and in-depth market knowledge. Growth minded mentality.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties and limitations which may affect positioning and competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Must be a self-starter, sensitive to the business culture and willing to enhance and contribute to its growth. Some travel required, including internationally.
Position Qualifications – Skills And Abilities
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering (BSME).
- PMP (Product Management Professional) Certification or MBA a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a senior manager with a minimum 5 years in the Hydraulic Industry in a leading Product Management role.
- Comfortable leading cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft computing programs: Outlook, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Positive attitude and an endless willingness to succeed, be a mentor, and a leader in Deltrol’s environment of teamwork.
Other Requirements
- Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist is a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience using Salesforce CRM software is a plus.
