World Class Manufacturer of hydraulic cartridge valves, custom hydraulic integrated circuits, and hydraulic and pneumatic in-line valves is looking for an energetic and committed Process Development Engineer.
This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer / Senior Process Engineer and interacts with all levels of the organization. Job Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in electromechanical engineering, electrical controls technology, or a related technical degree
- Must be familiar with ladder logic (PLC controls), flow chart programming (Touch panel operator interfaces)
- Must have knowledge of 2-D CAD (Autodesk AutoCAD)
- Must have knowledge of mechanical design (3-D Autodesk Inventor)
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley software tools, CLICK programming software, and OPTO 22 programming software a plus
- Experienced in a wide variety of instruments (flow, pressure, temperature meters, etc.)
- Should be proficient in Excel & Word
- Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable
- Must be able to review, analyze, and solve process problems
- Must be willing to work in cross functional teams
- Should have working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical panels and test fixtures
- Must be willing to learn new technologies and take on new projects with little supervision
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic valves and integrated systems a plus
- Must understand the basic principles of machining, product assembly, and product testing
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles, 5s and lean manufacturing a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and document set-up and test procedures for new products in production working from product test specifications
- Program industrial controls using ladder logic and flow chart programming (CLICK, OPTO 22, RSLogix500)
- Development of operator interfaces on panel computers using HMI software
- Create Bill of Materials, requisition components, and work with purchasing to locate vendors
- Program and document a variety of instrumentation used for measuring flow, pressure, etc.
- Wire electrical panels from schematics, assemble, startup, and debug production equipment
- Create electrical schematics (using 2-D CAD)
- Support manufacturing by troubleshooting production problems, determining root causes, and performing test fixture maintenance
- Work with Quality to validate test procedures and equipment to ensure that tested parts which are out of design specification will be detected
- Use test meters, scopes, hand tools, common office equipment, and computer applications.
- Test fixturing design using 3-D CAD
- Perform other related duties as assigned
